Books

Last few weeks, I read more books. I decided to list down and take a little overview of the books.

Pyongyan A Journey in North Korea

After I finish reading Burma Chronicle, I pick up Pyongyang A Journey in North Korea. It’s another travel log book by Guy Delisle. I like Burma Chronicle more than Pyongyang book. Not that much fun and interesting stuff like Burma Chronicle, more like what can and what can’t do in North Korea. Since I read books like In Order to Live it’s not giving me excitement.

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff … and it’s all small stuff (translate version)

Actually, my wife bought this book when we go to the bookstore. When we are back home, I pick up the book and taste a bit and I finish the book. It’s really good. I think this book is under the self-help category. But, I don’t feel like I am reading a typical self-help book. Lots of stuff to think and you will understand why some people behave in some way. Lots of interesting ways to handle the small stuff.

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck

I read this book in 2019. At that time, I don’t really like the book. Because the title and content were a bit un-related in my opinion. For some reason, I try to re-read this book again last week or so. This time, I think I got what book tries to give.

The Manual

For this book, ever since DHH mentioned I plan to read. It’s on my list for a very long time and in recent days, I started reading this book. The book is short, but lots of stuff to think about. I plan to read more books because of this book. This is one of the books I gonna re-read quite a few times. Very thoughtful and lots of stuff to think about. I am sure you can finish this book under 1 hour.

Are your lights on?

This book is about problems. What’s the problem? Very interesting and thoughtful. Honestly, it’s a bit hard to read for me. Not very easy to understand on some examples. Some chapters I need to re-read quite a few times. I made a summary of the book. I am sure, I gonna re-read this book again this year.

If you are thinking to choose the book from the list, I recommend you to read Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff, The Manual and Are your lights on?.
